Class details:
Art Foundations 3 is designed for students ages 10+ and is taught live online via Zoom. This course is perfect for young artists ready to take their skills further while beginning to develop a personal style and deeper creative expression.
*Many lessons are tied to science or biology topics, giving students new ways to understand and connect with the world through visual observation and art..
In this class, your child will:
-
Begin practicing the basics of realism techniques
-
Learn how to break down and draw more complex subjects, including still life, landscapes, and basic realism
-
Practice 1-point and 2-point perspective, proportional drawing, and gesture sketching
-
Explore new techniques like stippling (pointillism), multi-color shading, and visual balance in composition
-
Work with a more complex multi-media variety
-
Begin learning how to give and receive thoughtful critique to build confidence and artistic vocabulary
-
We’ll also focus on understanding the why behind what we create—encouraging deeper thinking about technique, emotion, and intention in the art-making process.
-
Some projects will have guided independent work time to support focus, self-direction, and preparation for future advanced projects.
Art Foundations 3 is all about helping kids refine their technical skills, think like artists, and grow in independence, creativity, and confidence.
This course can be taken twice
before lessons repeat.
