Our Art Foundations Program is designed to grow with your child. Each level introduces age-appropriate skills and builds on what students have already learned—while allowing young artists to move forward when they're ready, not simply because of their age.

ART FOUNDATIONS 1
Building Strong Foundations
Best for ages 6–8
& beginning young artists
A supportive introduction to drawing that helps children learn how to see shapes, build pictures step by step, add color shading according to light source, and helps them feel more confident creating on their own.
Students begin learning:

Size and placement to create depth

Growing Skills & Creative Confidence
Best for ages 8–10 and older beginners
ready for more detailed projects
Students create with greater detail, stronger technique, and more creative independence. Projects how artists use color, value, texture, and composition while continuing to build confidence through guided practice.
Students begin learning:

ART FOUNDATIONS 3
Developing Stronger Artists
Best for ages 10–15, including motivated beginners ready for greater complexity
Students deepen their understanding of how art works developing stronger technical skills and their own artistic voice. Projects become more complex as students explore more advanced drawing and color techniques.
Students develop skills in:

THURSDAY

Your child is younger, new to structured drawing, or benefits from simpler steps and a gentler pace.
Your child is comfortable following drawing instructions and is ready for more detail, shading, color theory, and technique.
Your child enjoys more complex artwork and is ready to explore realism, perspective, composition, and advanced techniques.
Your child has taken at least one year of Art 3 - or has been approved by the teacher - and is ready for longer, more focused study.
