Frequently Asked Questions
All three levels are designed to progress in alignment with developmental stages, learning patterns, and the cognitive needs of each age group Students can start where they are comfortable based not only on age but also on artistic readiness and confidence. Each level then builds on the previous one, allowing children to grow their skills at a pace that fits their needs.
Ages 6-8 (grades 1-2) – Art Foundations 1 Tuesdays: 10a or 4:30p (45 min class)
Ages 8-10 (grades 3-4) – Art Foundations 2 Wednesday: 10a or 4:30p (50 min class)
Ages 10-13 (grades 5-8) – Art Foundations 3 Thursday: 10a or 4:30p (50 min class)
We recommend following our age guidelines to provide the best learning environment for your child - this may mean selecting different classes based on each child’s skill level and needs.
However, if you prefer all your children to attend the same class, we suggest choosing the level appropriate for the youngest child. Older children can easily engage with lessons designed for younger ages, while younger children may struggle to keep up with more advanced material.
All subscriptions allow for class changes without affecting your current plan.
Switching classes usually occur for one of two reasons:
Your child has completed two years at their current class level and is ready to advance.
Your child finds their current class too challenging or not challenging enough, in which case we recommend considering a switch to a more suitable level. Students can move up or down when they’re ready—not just based on age, but also on artistic readiness and confidence.
To request a class change, you can:
Email Jessica with your thoughts, concerns, or request for a Zoom meeting.
Request to speak with Jessica briefly after class via Zoom to set up a meeting.
We’re happy to work with you to ensure your child is in the class that best supports their growth and enjoyment of art!
