Class details:
Join us for a dreamy and imaginative mixed media class as we create a glowing sky filled with soft color, light, and movement. In this project, students will design a peaceful scene of a figure gently floating beneath a radiant sky, lifted by heart-shaped balloons.
We’ll begin by exploring watercolor washes, learning how to blend colors smoothly to create a soft, glowing atmosphere. Then, students will build depth and texture using oil pastels, layering clouds and adding rich, expressive color. Finally, we’ll use colored pencil to refine details and create a strong silhouette that stands out against the luminous background.
Throughout the class, students will focus on blending, layering, and contrast, while also learning how to balance soft backgrounds with bold focal points.
No experience needed—just bring your imagination and a willingness to explore.
*younger ages are welcome but parent help is encouraged.
